At The Dress
Our main priority is that you thoroughly enjoy your experience while shopping with us. Starting the journey of finding your perfect dress can be daunting, and involve some vision and imagination, but we are here to hold your hand throughout the whole process. We are a small team that is wildly passionate about bridal wear, but equally passionate about ensuring your experience with us is relaxed, fun and at times a little surprising. Our job is not to tell what gown you should wear but to take you on a path of discovery to your perfect dress.
Emily
Co-Owner & Manager
Emily – Co owner/manager. Emily first worked in the wedding industry many moons ago as a make-up artist, followed by a long established career in luxury retail. Emily came to work part time at The Dress after taking some time out to have her two boys but about a year after starting the previous owner announced that she was going to shut the boutique, and made a throw away comment about Emily taking over. After some very swift discussions with her Mother-in-Law, Sandra, they decided they couldn’t let that happen and took over the boutique in September 2018 and haven’t looked back.
Sandra
Co-Owner
Sandra fell in love with the whole bridal dress shopping experience while helping her sister find her perfect wedding dress a few years ago and started dreaming of opening a boutique of her own. Then came the opportunity to take over The Dress where Emily was working, and the rest is history. Sandra spends as much time as she can in the boutique, while juggling her first career as an Estate agent part time. With a plan to spend more and more time at the shop you will be seeing Sandra a lot more often sharing in the journey of helping each bride find the one.
Della
Bridal Stylist
Della – Bridal stylist. Della started working at the dress part time while completing her studies. Once finished she continued to work at The Dress even after getting a full time job in central London as she just loves it so much. Della has a real passion for quality fabrics and gorgeous tailoring, all key elements of the collections we hold at The Dress, and who’s opinion we value when making selections for the new seasons styles.
Desi
Seamstress
Desi is an independent seamstress who has done all the alterations for The dress for over 10 years. Desi won the AVON National competition for Young Designer of the year in 2007 and spent over 10 years working in Saville Row. Not only does Desi do all the fittings and alterations for The Dress, but also creates custom pieces and design elements for our brides to help them realise their vision of their perfect dress.
